AltoSum provides a WordPress plugin and a hosted API that generate AI summaries (TL;DRs and key takeaways) for posts. The free plan includes a monthly allowance; AltoSum Pro removes the limit. We may change features and limits over time.
The free plan works without an account, identified by a non-identifying site ID. AltoSum Pro is sold through our merchant of record, Freemius, who is the seller of record and handles payment and tax. Your licence is for use on the sites you own or manage.
Pro plans are "fair-use unlimited": subject to a generous monthly ceiling to prevent abuse. The AI is provided through a third-party AI provider (Anthropic), and your use of the AI features must comply with applicable law and with Anthropic's Usage Policy. You agree not to: exceed or circumvent plan or fair-use limits; resell or redistribute access to the API or the underlying AI service; send unlawful content; use the service to generate content that is deceptive, infringing, or harmful; attempt to develop a competing AI model or to reverse-engineer the service; or attempt to disrupt the service. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for breach of these terms or the Usage Policy.
AltoSum produces AI-generated, suggested text. AI output can be inaccurate: factual statements may be false, incomplete, misleading, or not reflect recent information, and should not be relied upon without independently checking their accuracy. You are responsible for reviewing all output before it is published. We do not warrant that generated text is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose, and you remain responsible for the content on your site, including its legal compliance.
You retain all rights in the content you send. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy for details. Business customers acting as data controllers may rely on our Data Processing Agreement (a counter-signed copy is available on request).
We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" and "as available," without uptime guarantees on the free plan.
Pro is billed on a recurring basis by our merchant of record until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and will retain access until the end of the current period. Taxes are handled by the merchant of record.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms.
